What's Transhumanism?
Transhumanism, a social and philosophical movement devoted to promoting the research and development of robust technologies. Such technologies would augment or increase human sensory reception, emotive ability, or cognitive capacity as well as radically improve human health and extend human life spans.
Transhumanism is a philosophical movement, the proponents of which advocate and predict the enhancement of the human condition by developing and making widely available sophisticated technologies able to greatly enhance longevity, mood and cognitive abilities.
Transhumanist thinkers study the potential benefits and dangers of emerging technologies that could overcome fundamental human limitations as well as the ethics of using such technologies. Some transhumanists believe that human beings may eventually be able to transform themselves into beings with abilities so greatly expanded from the current condition as to merit the label of posthuman beings. Basically means turning people into cyborgs.
Before we rush into this so-called "enhancement", let's ask ourselves, is this really beneficial to humanity? Is this another step towards "evolution"? In the near future, we wouldn't be able to tell the difference between an A.I. and a human because we'd look very much alike. If this "enhances" humans, that means it'd "enhance" every aspect of humanity. Such as the government, security, and even criminal activities etc. How would human reproduction be affected? And also, what about hackers? There's no doubt that there would be a person or an organization that would try hacking into the bodies of the cyborgs, and that wouldn't be pretty. They might make them do all sorts of things or even shut them down entirely. We need to be sure this is really beneficial to humanity and not just a scheme devised by an organization to control humans efficiently. Because we're humans and freedom is our number 1 human right. Nobody likes to be kept in a cage or being monitored 24/7, or be controlled and being told what to do. Everyone wants to be human.
